Friction analysis during deformation of steels under hot-working conditions

چکیده
An original multiscale friction analysis is developed to characterize the interfacial phenomena during hot forging contact conditions in manufacture of wheels for railway industry. Hot upsetting sliding tests and roll-on-disc are performed reproduce tribological at meso micro-scale. Crushed embedded oxides found be present on sample's surfaces. Stick-slip occur due accumulation crushed oxides. This transform from a lubricant/oxide configuration an oxide/oxide condition. Microanalysis measurements specimen's wear tracks clearly show that lubricant layer broken down transferred tool specimen surface by means accumulated oxide particles.

Prediction of Deformation Resistance of Low Carbon Steels during Hot Rolling
Phenomenological approach to the description of deformation resistance behaviour of steel and its microstructure development under the service hot rolling condition is still the most common useful and powerful. Utilising different experimental equipment such as torsion plastometer [1-5], compression plastometer [6-9], or advanced laboratory mills [10, 11] as well as different deformation techni...
متن کاملMicrostructural Evaluation of Ti-6AL-4V Alloy during Hot Deformation
Among the titanium alloys, Ti-6Al-4V is the most widely used. In the present work, the uniaxial hot compressive behavior of Ti-6Al-4V has been investigated under constant strain rates. A series of dilatometery experiments were carried out to determine the transformation temperatures at different cooling rates. Specimens were homogenized at 1050 °C for 10 minutes followed by fast cooling to dif...

متن کاملDynamic Recrystallization under Hot Deformation of a PH Stainless Steel
Dynamic recrystallization, DRX, behaviour of a precipitation hardened, PH, stainless steel was studied in connection with microstructural developments in a compression test. The experimental results showed that the dominant mechanism of softening is DRX, but at high strain rates and low temperatures, ie, high Zener-Holman parameter, Z, work hardening and dynamic recovery, DRV, produced a pancke...
متن کاملInfluence of Initial Microstructure on Hot Deformation Behavior of Duplex Stainless Steels
In this research the effect of initial microstructure on hot deformation behavior in terms of Ferrite-to-Austenite ratios is studied. Two types of stainless steels C1 and C2 were homogenizing heat-treated and deformed under hot compression examinations at temperatures 900ºC and 1100ºC at strain rate of 0.1s-1. The results showed that the flow stress levels of specimens are strongly r...
